Officers responding to Third and Washington streets around 11:50 p.m. Sunday found an unconscious man being carried by a group of people, Hoboken police Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera said.
Police put the unconscious man in the back seat of a cruiser and took him to Hoboken University Medical Center, where he was discharged a few hours later, Cabrera said.
Then, police officers arriving at the scene saw a 17-year-old male punch another male. The teen was arrested and found in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
An investigation into the incident led to the arrests of Mark Lewis, 19, of Englewood, for assaulting the same victim that officers saw the teen punch, Cabrera said. He was released on a summons pending a court appearance.
Walid Hamed, 26, of Brooklyn, was charged with assaulting the victim who was hospitalized, police said.He was charged with endangering an injured victim, aggravated assault and hindering, and released on a summons pending a court date.
The teen was charged with juvenile delinquency, simple assault, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and released to a parent.
